Enderle Scholarship Program

The eleventh of fifteen children, Monsignor Marvin Enderle's life was one of service to his country, his community, and his lord. After graduating from high school in 1944, he joined the army, serving for three years in Germany and Austria. He then returned to civilian life, studied business law and psychology, and followed with jobs at Gulf States Utilities and Mobil Oil. Responding to his call to the priesthood, he entered St. Mary's seminary in 1954 and was ordained in 1961. Among the many honors he received are the Padre for Youth Award and the Pontifical Award for Fostering Vocations to the Religious Life. He is listed in Who's Who in Religion and, in 1976, Pope Paul IV elevated him to Domestic Prelate (Papal Monsignor).

In 1993, in honor of Louisiana Gamma's tenth anniversary, the Monsignor Marvin Enderle Scholarship was endowed through a generous gift of Brother Lamar Roach. The Educational Foundation gives the scholarship each year to one or more rising senior members of the chapter at Loyola. Those who have received the scholarship are listed below.
