History of
Sigma Phi Epsilon
at Loyola University New Orleans
With these words our Founders
started the phenomenon of Sigma Phi Epsilon. A Fraternity that looks not at
the way things are but seek to create the way things can be. True to The
Creed of Sigma Phi Epsilon, we believe the only way to love our fraternity
is to know our fraternity. We must, therefore, seek to learn its traditions
and stories. Only in this way can we truly understand the wonderful nature of
our heritage.
Much has been written about the founding of our fraternity in Richmond,
Virginia in 1901. As a national organization, our history is filled with tales
of growth and triumph. But, to borrow a phrase, "all chapters are local
chapters" and their local stories are the true flavor of our existence.
So, this space is dedicated to telling OUR stories and learning OUR traditions.
Augmented over time, we hope to see it grow, but never completed.
